THE QUEEN’S ZINE
APRIL….
It’s certainly time to start the April Zine because it’s April. You
wouldn’t know it by the weather outside; snowing in Seattle in April
says it all. But it is April and there’s no chance of this Queen’s Zine
not being all about, what’s all about. One hell of an April holiday
season, the Easter state of the nation must be discussed because it has
everything to do with how millions are (not) looking and feeling.
Refined white sugar being refined white sugar and people eating tons and
tons well, exactly….
Not to mention but, twist my arm what it really is…fertile, fertile,
fertile, why do you think it’s been reduced to squillions of over
starched children frantically running after the worst, mass produced,
so-not-even chocolate shit. If you haven’t heard, download certainly
Tuesday the 14th’s Show on blogtalkradio.com because the power behind
what’s most despised is, more than, discussed.
Easter:
Another day, another holiday reduced to refine white sugar, tons of
tinselly, florescent, plasticky horrifying trash when in fact, tis a
lovely holiday time of the year.
Because Spring is. What’s to decorate? The Earth is right now; you
don’t even have to be conscious to know that, blooming is happening
everywhere and, it’s blooming sexy. Budding is, sprouting is,
regenerating abounds and, it’s very real (far more real than what’s
being sold/told) and very sexy. And you? Feeling sexy, strong, alive
rejuvenated? You, connected to the Earth and the stunning show
happening everywhere you look? You hankering for sun and fun? The
reality is, not for millions which begs the question if not, why not?
The exact opposite is what far too many live in daily, not directly
connected at all; not a good feeling because it all is directly
connected certainly, to the way you look and feel.
Just before Summer sexy, is that what you are feeling? In all likelihood
not and, that’s real. The frustration, fear, angst and horror of summer
just around the corner, another summer not connected to your body,
another summer not looking and feeling the way you want to look and
feel. Another summer of no energy and strength. Another summer gone,
exactly what’s happening to millions of people right now, I know. I know
because that’s exactly what happened to me.
Ring a bell….
Weight loss cycle, 101…
You made a resolution, what was it three months ago?
Stuck to it for a couple of weeks, maybe a bit more
And
You failed again….
Self flogging begins
You’ve been swamped
Life ain’t getting any easier
And now…
The economy
You are miles from the way you want to look and feel
And, damn Summer is…looming
There’s no way you can lose as much weight as you need to lose so,
Screw it….
You compromise everything you really, really wanted/want and, another summer blown.
Nothing pessimistic about the truth and, that is the truth. Also the
absolute truth of the matter if loving the way you look and feel (didn’t
say dropping a couple of pounds, said loving the way you look and feel
and mean it) is what you want is, you can. There’s no need (ever) to
lose another season completely disconnected from your body and caught in
the weight loss that never works cycle.
Let’s get back to the Earth because when you think about it (and emulate
it, literally) what’s going on wouldn’t be such a bad thing to add to
your (everybody’s) daily life. Sprouting, blossoming, reaching
towards the sun need I say more? It turns out it’s the perfect time to
add all of that and some to your life and there’s only one way to do it.
Wellness.
No better time than now is literal as is fertile. Energy to birth – the
life you want, the energy you want, the body you want – why not? What
better time than right now, during a cycle far bigger than most could
imagine possible, the Earth’s. Nothing spiritual about it (although) I’m
talking about the direct connection between what the Earth is doing,
the energy that takes to do it, the fertility (everywhere) handed to you
to do it and weight loss, oh yes I am.
This past week’s blogs have been all about it and you didn’t hear a gong
in any of them. No turban, no title, no mountaintop. None needed; what
I’m saying is literal, indisputable and never, ever, ever discussed
which is, where it gets interesting….
If alive, rejuvenated and blossoming are things you’d like to live in
daily then there’s one question that needs answering, actually a couple
of questions. How you are living, every day in every way? Rhetorical of
course point being the solution. Changing a lifestyle that isn’t working
for millions which will solve more problems (symptoms) than most could
imagine possible, the solution and, it is. When I say no better time to
start than now, I’m talking about one hell of a powerful truth.
Now is the time for you to resurrect. Yes.
Spring is a festival, the Earth’s. Heavily adorned without a doubt,
everything opening to the sun and warmth, enough said if/when you think
about it. The festival of fertility is what’s happening and the most
fertile time in your health, your life, your body and brain (cause they
are directly connected dr. dr.) is now. Eat, breathe, move and think
about that…..
BOOK LIST:
You’ll notice quite a few new springy sections popping up all over your
Zine this month for reasons already explained and, it’s true. Between
Tuesday night’s radio show, twitter, susanpowteronline.com, myspacers,
youtubers, facebooking, there are far more requests for must have
information like, the 101 book list to freedom.
Kimmy don’t run and Kimmy wants a booklist (see any Tuesday night’s show
and you’ll know what I’m talking about) so Kimmy gets a booklist from
my boxes and boxes of books, all my books that lie (in waiting) for a
moment. Books I’ve carried around for, well over 20 years and will
carry till the day I die because I love my books. Books my 25 year old
son is reading; titles he picked up on his own (having been raised by
me, of course) titles I read at his age and younger, the next generation
of life changing information to say the least…
Starting with:
Who Cooked the Last Supper, Rosalind Miles (or titled The Woman’s History of The World)
Read it, every human being should…
Silent Springs, Rachel Carson
Read it, every human being should
Beyond Beef, Jeremy Rifkin
Written how long ago?
Howard Zinn, A People’s History of The United States
Four great places to start, different categories same story, brilliantly
told which, I just decided will be the criteria for my Zine book lists.
Different categories, same story (because it all is) brilliant told.
So there you have it, a terrific beginning book list for everyone
interested.
NEW TO ZINE SCENE
Another new title…
I sat down the other day to edit and wrote what I just did. This “I just” list was done just after I just did it all.

Hot and spicy chicken wings
Chickpeas for hummus and, made hummus
Tossed one hell of a wild green and, every other chopped veggie under the sun, salad….
Painted six pieces for art project
Served an amazing lunch to my sons
Hummus with grilled onions and potato tacos….
And sat down to work….
